Last Sunday, we took ANOTHER break from the house (well, it's still FREEZING in here without the radiators) and headed out to Woodstock to check out our friends' farmhouse renovation project.
While there, we enjoyed brunch at La Petite Creperie in Woodstock's town square. (The town square may look vaguely familiar to fans of the movie, Groundhog Day. It was filmed in and around Woodstock.)
Charming restaurant, yummy food, and another really interesting idea in regards to changing the view through a window that is not as desirable as you would like. (House next door is too close, dining room looks out onto an industrial park, that sort of thing.)
Put framed art in the lower half of a double hung window. Or a mirror if you feel that view inside is more interesting than the view outside :)
I wish my photo did it justice. This really was pretty in real life.

I love Woodstock! I used to live in Cary, which is not too far (had to go to Woodstock's DMV). Looks like a cute place and a great idea to cover the ugliness.
Come to think of it, I had a brand new house in Cary and yet I STILL spent an inordinate amount of time painting and gardening and spiffing it up. You just can't win, can you?!

When we lived in Rockford, we would go over to Woodstock for lunch and visit some of the cute and interesting shops. Fun memories.
