KBIS Products: I'm a Fein Fan

Fein shows up at KBIS and I act like I'm going to see the Beatles. A chick DIY geek love story.

I love my Fein Multimaster. I know I've said that before. And everyone who has borrowed my Fein loves it too. It's one of the most popular tools in the box for manuvering in tight spaces, finishing work, digging out old grout, sanding trim, refinishing windows...it's the Swiss Army Knife of power tools. Because it is an oscillating tool, it has power without kickback and lots of control. My fellow female DIY'ers love the Fein for that very reason.

So, I got all breathless and geeky when I saw the Fein booth at the Kitchen and Bath Show.

New in the Fein grab bag of tricks this year? A profile sanding set that lets you attack concave and convex surfaces with ease. Great for sanding tongue and groove boards.

And diamond sharpening attachments for sharpening every tool in box...or in the kitchen or in the garden.

And then, Brian the Fein Guy demo'ed the construction cutter for me. Whoa. My heart skipped a beat.

The cutter cleanly sliced into ceramic tile with ease and very little dust. It's built for creating clean cut outs in floors and walls, and it can handle drywall, plaster and lathe, concrete, ceramic tile and metal studs. It has a precision depth stop so you can avoid cutting too deep. The blade is encased in a dust-free suction container and, when it is hooked up to the Fein Vacuum, is practically dust free.

Basically, it rocks.

What girl needs diamond earrings when she can have diamond cutting blades?

I agree -- Fein rocks!
I bought my husband a MultiMaster for Xmas this year with the hopes that someday he'd use it to pry the fugly tiles off our kitchen walls. That hasn't happened yet.
It was really expensive, but probably worth it. When I get a chance to use it, maybe I'll write up a review for Toolspotting.
My husband doesn't even realize how cool this gift was yet...somebody should tell him that nothing says "I Still Love You" like a Fein MultiMaster!
