Light My Fire...no, wait...Front Porch

Category: Accents

We've decided we need more balance in our house renovation lives right now. Right now, everything we're doing is either

A) Going inside of the walls, or
B) Keeping cold air from entering the walls

So, LET THERE BE LIGHT!!! A front porch light, to be exact. Yep, we're getting one.

Because we are on a bit of a (cough) budget, we had to get creative about finding one. So, we turned to the UN-usual suspects for Craftsman Lighting.

Kichler.

We even found it on sale on the Internet!

In fact, if you can find a design that you like and the price is a little steep, check out the Lighting Universe and try to find similar, more affordable models. It may not always work out, but...hmmm...sometimes it might!

(Other great places to look for lighting deals online...The Bright Spot or even the manufacturer's own site. Who loves you, baby? House In Progress does. :)

We've been doing tons of insulating too. Such a boring project, but we did do a little dance when the basement was no longer frigid.

I agree completely with the notion of balancing the renovations... somehow you've got to reward yourself for all the work you're not getting any enjoyment out of. Coming home to a pretty light every night should do the trick!
