Clawfoot Tub Faucet

Category: Bathroom

We're trying to pick out a faucet for the clawfoot tub we found for our master bathroom. The one above--the three-balled legtub faucet from Clawfoot Supply--is our leading choice so far.

We've gravitated towards gooseneck models like this because of their convenience and their look. (It actually comes in a brushed nickel version not pictured, which is how we're planning to do the whole bathroom.) To be frank, most other styles seem to leave a lot to be desired. We've decided against units that combine a faucet and hand sprayer. Our main concern is that refinished porcelain shouldn't have heavy or abrasive objects resting on it, which the steel-wrapped tubing clearly would do.

So, that's our current thinking. We have looked at lots of options, so we posted several here. If anyone likes one more than our current choice let us know!

In keeping with your old fashioned clawfoot tub, what ever faucet you decide on, I would suggest you go for the white porcelin knobs... POPS"30"

What does your sink fixtures look like? I like the one you picked and number 1, LOVE number two but don't think that it would look as good with your style tub. My fiance and I just bought a prarie style bungalow in Indianapolis. I can't wait to start on it!

i am of the opinion that you should get whichever kind is easiest for you to turn on and off with your toes.

#3 or #4 get my vote---they look very much like the original faucet handles in our bathrooms, and they have that nice, straightforward look of charming utility.

I second the vote for the one you can turn off easiest with your toes. A good soak does require the occassional warming, and using your feet to accomplish the task is the best choice!

Well, the one pictured at the top probably does best with the feet test. However, we haven't picked out our sink faucet yet so we'll probably defer our final decision a bit longer. ;-)
